everything at hotel was good - room and service excellent

hot breakfast could do with more variety instead of same thing every day

if you like walking most things within walking distance - didn't try public transport

We were most upset by the attitude of female receptionists. Unhelpful and not very polite. They charged 18 Euros on our checking out for TV pay to watch which was not accessed. When we tried to access a film the message read - there are no films at this time. When we tried to explain this the receptionist would not listen saying we should have complained at the time. This was never made clear and I feel most aggreived. Also the road outside is completely being re done and this looks like an ongoing project. Prospective clients should be warned.

Excellent value. Very nice room - compact as you would expect in a city hotel but modern. A little out of the main tourist area but not too far from metro station. Free hot drinks and pastries in the evening were a bonus! Short trip from the airport.

Numerous bars and restuarants in the immediate vicinity. Twenty minnute walk to the Las Ramblas.

We'd only been in Barcelona about an hour, we were walking towards finding our Hotel and passing under alot of Balcony's when my wife was soaked in alot of like chocolate pop, out of the blue round the corner came a man shouting in English 'come with me I'll wash you down' (Quite odd he'd never spoken to us before and shouting to us in English) I was aware through Travel websites of this scam, before you know it he'd be through your pockets, I just shouted 'clear off'. He left, shouting obscenities at me, I helped my wife, cleaning her up, obviously abit shocked, and didn't say anything at the hotel until later morning and asked receptionist whats this area like and she told me to be aware of something throwing on you and strangers approaching you, I startled her when I told her its just happened to my wife, now the point here is Eixample is generally quite a safe area, but we were lucky a) I'm quite street wise and b) I reguarly go on travel web site forums looking out for tips and interests so we were aware. Alot of people fall victim to this and to be honest have no idea about scams, so I know this is quite a sensivitive subject because nobody wants to frighten tourists, etc. Maybe without putting up displays in Hotels staff in tourists places (ie Hotels, Tourist Info offices) can warn people, obviously not to scare people but too just put people on guard more. After this experience it doesn't put us off this wondferful city and we'd go back there tomorrow although I feel immensely sorry for victims of things like this, anyway I just feel I need to speak my views on this and this was only the downside of our trip and thanks for the survey.

We found the Hotel very good and pleasant. Very clean and staff were very nice and helpful. Room lay out very good, and excellent bathroom, shower was superb. We would definately recommend this Hotel and may even stay there again because other than a couple of bad events (nothing to do with Hotel) we would love to go back to Barcelona again because we found it so exciting with alot of things to do.

Only slight negative, I was concerned about Crime in Barcelona from what I've been reading about before I left so we used the room safe but I didn't feel the lock barrel was completely fool proof it seemed to be a bit too loose away from complete lock down if you turned it slightly to the right with key but I may be slightly too worried on this and its no doubt been tested well I should imagine.

Its 20 minute walk to the main tourist area (Placa Catalunya) but it was no problem for us as we love walking, but maybe a problem for older people or with disabilities, The area is in Eixample which we found a bit less busier and to be honest other than the odd restaurant theres not much to do in and around Hotel. What is very good the Aerobus on the way back to Airport stops at a bus stop less than 10 minutes away from Hotel, that was excellent and they're a very good service at least 4 an hour.

Thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Barcelona but did feel the hotel was a bit to far from town centre and also the nearest metro stop. Food was good.
